NOVI SAD (FIBA U19 World Championship) - Australia's defence of the FIBA U19 World Championship title continued in formidable fashion with a 135-79 demolition of Korea on Monday.
Andrew Ogilvy was the star of the show, draining 27 points and claiming 12 rebounds in the rout, but his contribution was well supported by the 18 points of Daniel Jackson, Daniel Johnson's 17 and 15 from Chris Goulding.
Sunhyung Kim's performance was the only bright spot in an otherwise bleak Korean display, the Jung-Ang University shooting guard netting 22 points, but it was far too little to make a difference on a game which started reasonably well for the Koreans.
Indeed, they even led 4-2 - albeit for just six seconds - but things quickly got worse after losing the opening quarter 28-22.
Going into half-time they had added a measly seven points - compared to the Aussies' 29 - and at 57-29 down the tie was effectively over.
They managed to stay competitive in the third, keeping the score to 99-60 going into the final period, but a 36-19 mauling over the last 10 minutes rounded off the game in fitting style.
